Meal Plans

I have decided that it's just too much to figure out what I'm going to eat for 10 days during my cleanse. So instead I am taking it in 5-day chunks.

The Herbal Cleanse I bought (see past posts for link) includes 5 Fiber Drink Mixes, Herbal Supplements and Probiotic Supplements. They give you a schedule for when to consume what and I included them in my meal plans below.

For the cleanse, I am NOT supposed to eat any sugar, fried or processed food. I am also supposed to eat 10 servings of fruits/vegetables and drink 8 glasses of water a day. {1 serving of fruit constitutes about a 1/2 cup and 1 serving of vegetables is 1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw}

It also says that you should not consume "white" carbs. So Whole Grain rice, bread, pasta, etc. is OK to eat.

I will not be cooking anything with butter or olive oil and will be staying away from artificial sugars ( bye-bye crystal light )

Here is my grocery list for the first 5 days {keep in mind I am buying for 2 people since Jon is doing it with me. That is why it seems like I spent a lot of money on groceries!}

[I already had Chicken, Protein Powder, Shredded Cheese, Tilapia, Whole Grain Bread, Whole Grain Rice, Whole Grain Pasta and Tomato Sauce so they are not included in the grocery list]

Produce:
Light Orange Juice (to mix with my fiber drink) I got Tropicana Trop50
Lettuce (for salads)
Lettuce Head
2 Whole Tomatoes
Cherry Tomatoes
2 Cucumbers
Grapes, Bananas, Watermelon, Cantaloupe
Asparagus
Zucchini
Bell Peppers
Mushrooms

Cold:
3 Dozen Eggs
Reduced Fat Provolone Slices

Frozen:
Corn

Deli:
Fresh Ham Slices

Miscellaneous:
Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

The total came out to be around $80 (for 2 people) so 1 person should be able to do it for under $50.

I also made a rough eating plan for the next 5 days. I am in no way, shape or form a dietician! I just know how to follow guidelines and know what is healthy/unhealthy. This can be modified if there are foods that you may not like. This is just how I plan to do the next 5 days:

First Anniversary

Today is Jon and I's first wedding anniversary! It's amazing how time flies.

My family and I watched the wedding video {my Aunt made for me} as a sort of "vow renewal" as my dad likes to call it. It was a nice reminder to see the sacred vows we made that day.

I was 30 pounds lighter a year ago today.

How easily weight can creep up on you especially after getting married.

Instead of the Newlywed Nine it was the Newlywed Thirty

Time to get back in shape!

Seeing that video was a good motivation to where I hope to be on our next anniversary.

30 pounds in a year? That's do-able!

And to kick start healthy eating, I am starting my 10 day cleanse tomorrow and I can honestly say that I am excited to start and get back on this fitness track!

I will weigh myself and take measurements to see my progress :)

Running Update

My left calf muscle has been killing me.

I tried to run the other day and I couldn't even make it past 1 mile!

But, I gave myself a two day rest to try to let my body recuperate and then went running this morning.

It was still hard and I went really slow but I got to 2.25 miles as my training schedule demands!

{BTW if anyone is curious about what training schedule I am using to train for my 5k, you can find it HERE . It assumes you can already run a mile though.}

I love using the MapMyRun app for my running because it tracks my distance for me and tells me every 0.5 miles what my time and pace is.

I would be lost without it!

I am so excited to start my cleanse on Monday, because after this weekend, I am gonna need it:

1 baby shower, 4 birthday parties, and Mother's Day (late) = a lot of stinkin' food!

Better enjoy it while I can because having no sugar for 10 days is going to be killer for me.

10 Day Cleanse

Recently, I decided that I wanted to do some sort of cleanse to kick start healthy eating.

I have been eating pretty clean but I feel like this cleanse will give me the oomph I need!

I am doing the Advocare 10 day Herbal Cleanse which you can order HERE

So Excited!

I also ordered their SPARK energy drink because I hear it's fantastic!

I plan to start on Monday, June 3! Although my goal is not losing weight, it would be nice if that occurred as well.

So, I will weigh myself and take measurements BEFORE and AFTER to see how I progress!

Anyone doing it with me?

Hello World!

My first official blog post! Woot woot!

The question I MUST answer in my FIRST blog post is : "Why am I writing this blog?"

Simple.

I follow different blogs on the Internet all about different things and they inspire me! They are REAL and it's so refreshing.

As I carve myself into the person I want to be, I hope to inspire others in the process.

So how about some Q&A to start this thing off, shall we?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Who are you?

My name is Angela. I am a college student at UF in Gainesville, Florida {go gata} ! I am married *without* kids, but I consider my dog, Scooter, a child. Jon (my husband) and I are about to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!

Aren't you a little young to be married?

Yes. Believe me, you are not the first person to ask. I consider myself lucky to have met my husband so early in life! More time to enjoy with him :)

What do you plan on blogging about?

Mostly fitness related topics. I may add in some of my couponing love or random things that happen throughout the week. I have a long list of fitness goals that I want to accomplish and I hope to inspire some to do them along with me!

What's your first fitness goal?

I am in the process of training for a 5k run that is happening on the 4th of July. I'm sure it sounds funny to anyone who is considered a "runner" that I have to train for a 5k. But, hey, you gotta start somewhere! I am about halfway through my training and then I want to go on to a 10k race.

What keeps you busy outside of school?

I love to dance! I am apart of a dance company at UF called Extreme and I also tap with a group at UF called Stomp the Swamp. Other than that, I often find myself mentally-drained and face-down at a library desk or sweating my butt off in an intense workout class.

What household chore do you hate the most?

I HATE putting clothes away! I seriously dread it. I don't mind washing clothes, I don't mind drying clothes, but when it comes down to putting the clothes away, I avoid it at all costs. I will have clothes lying on the ground in our bedroom for weeks before I finally decide to give in and put those suckers in their place. Oh, the struggles.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I am so excited to get this blog going!

To end this post, here's a picture [many more to come] of my dog :

Peace.
